📜 Terms & Conditions

✅ Effective from: June 4, 2026 · Version 2.0

Welcome to Pro Piano Ultra — the most powerful online piano workstation. By accessing or using this web application (“the App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use the App. These terms are designed to be fair, clear, and human-friendly — no hidden clauses or legal traps.

🎹 TL;DR (too long; didn’t read): This app is free, works entirely in your browser, and does not collect personal data. You can use it for personal or educational purposes. Respect the open-source licenses (especially the soundfonts). Don’t try to hack, resell, or misuse the app. That’s it — enjoy playing piano!

1. 🆓 Use of the App

Pro Piano Ultra is provided free of charge. You are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the App for personal, educational, and non-commercial purposes. Commercial use (e.g., embedding the App into a paid product or using it as a core service for profit) requires explicit written permission from the developer.

  • ✔️ You may use the piano to practice, compose, record audio locally, and share recordings you created.
  • ✔️ You may customize colors, instruments, and EQ settings for your own enjoyment.
  • ❌ You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code beyond normal browser inspection.
  • ❌ You may not use the App to distribute malicious content, spam, or violate any applicable laws.
  • ❌ You may not impersonate the creator or claim ownership of the original application design.

The App is intended for users of all ages; however, if you are under 13, please use it with parental guidance (the App contains no chat, no personal data requests, and no mature content).

2. 🎚️ Functionality & Third-Party SoundFonts

Pro Piano Ultra generates sound by loading audio samples from the MIDI.js SoundFonts project hosted at https://github.com/gleitz/midi-js-soundfonts. These samples are used under the MIT License. While we strive to maintain reliable access, the third-party CDN may occasionally experience downtime or changes. The App is not responsible for temporary unavailability of external sound samples.

Additionally, the App includes features such as:

  • 🎹 61 / 88-key virtual keyboard with touch & mouse support
  • 🎚️ 10-band graphic equalizer (real-time audio processing)
  • ✨ Glow effects (visual animations that do not affect performance or tracking)
  • 🔴 Built-in audio recorder (WebM format — files are saved locally on your device only)

No warranty is provided that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with all devices/browsers. However, we are committed to maintaining core functionality.

3. 🔒 Privacy & Data (No Collection Guarantee)

Our Privacy Policy (available separately) explains that we collect zero personal data. No analytics, no tracking cookies, no remote logging. The only stored information is your preferences (instrument choice, colors, EQ settings) saved locally in your browser’s localStorage. That data never leaves your device.

By using the App, you consent to this local storage mechanism. You can clear all saved data at any time via your browser settings (“clear site data”). The App does not require any registration, email address, or payment method.

4. 🧠 User-Generated Content (Recordings & Performances)

The built-in recorder allows you to capture your piano performances as audio files (WebM). You retain full ownership of any recordings you create. The App does not upload, store, or transmit your recordings to any server — they stay on your local device unless you manually share them.

  • 🎤 You are solely responsible for the content you record (e.g., copyright clearance if you play copyrighted songs).
  • 📤 If you choose to share a recording via email, cloud storage, or social media, those third-party services have their own terms.
  • 🎼 The App does not claim any rights over your musical creations.
🎧 Important: When you use the “Save” button, the audio file is downloaded to your “Downloads” folder. We never access it. Respect music copyrights when sharing.

5. 🧩 Intellectual Property & Open Source Attribution

Original UI, piano logic, and custom code: © Pro Piano Ultra developer. All rights reserved. However, this application incorporates open-source soundfonts under permissive licensing.

MIDI.js SoundFonts are created by Benjamin Gleitzman (gleitz) and contributors. The repository is licensed under the MIT License. You can find the full license text at the official GitHub repository:

The MIT License grants permission to use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sublicense, and/or sell copies of the software, subject to preserving copyright and permission notices. This application uses soundfont files from the FluidR3_GM collection, distributed under the same MIT terms.

Trademarks: Any instrument names, brand references, or product names used in instrument presets are for identification purposes only and belong to their respective owners. No affiliation or endorsement is implied.

6. ⚖️ Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO: FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, MERCHANTABILITY, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE.

We do not guarantee that the sound quality, latency, or compatibility with all hardware will be perfect. The maximum volume mode is provided for creative use; please protect your hearing and use reasonable volume levels. The developer is not liable for any hearing damage or hardware issues resulting from misuse or excessive volume.

7. 🛡️ Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE DEVELOPER, CONTRIBUTORS, OR HOSTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP. THIS INCLUDES LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF RECORDINGS, OR ANY OTHER DAMAGES, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

Because some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, these limitations may not apply to you. In such cases, liability shall be limited to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.

8. 🚫 Prohibited Conduct

When using Pro Piano Ultra, you agree NOT to:

  • Use automated scripts, bots, or macro tools to simulate playing or to overload the service.
  • Attempt to bypass any domain protection mechanisms (the security layer exists to prevent malicious iframe embedding).
  • Redistribute, resell, or sublicense the App or its underlying code (except for the MIDI.js SoundFonts which are governed by their MIT License).
  • Use the App to distribute offensive, infringing, or illegal content (e.g., recordings containing hate speech or copyrighted materials without permission).
  • Reverse engineer the Web Audio processing for malicious exploitation.

Violation of these rules may result in a permanent ban from using the App (via IP blocking, if technically feasible).

9. 🔄 Modifications to the App & Terms

We reserve the right to update, modify, or discontinue any feature of Pro Piano Ultra at any time, with or without notice. We may also revise these Terms & Conditions. The most current version will always be available within the App’s information panel or via a dedicated link. By continuing to use the App after changes become effective, you agree to the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the App.

Minor updates (e.g., fixing bugs, adding new instruments) do not require notice. Major changes will be announced via a visible banner in the App.

10. 🧾 Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction where the developer resides (EU / international principles), without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the use of the App shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration or small claims court as mutually agreed. You agree to waive the right to a class action.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

11. ⏳ Termination

Your rights under these Terms will terminate automatically if you violate any provision. Upon termination, you must cease using the App and delete any locally stored data (recordings, etc.). The developer may also block access at their discretion. However, provisions that by their nature should survive (disclaimers, liability limits, intellectual property credit) will survive termination.
